Film Friday – You’ve Been Running Wrong (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recommendation of one video to watch this weekend.

I don’t think about my running when I run. I run like a Nike advert – I Just Do It.

But after watching this, I did wonder if I have been running wrong….

If you want to know more about Tony Riddell check out his website. He’s quite an interesting guy https://tonyriddle.com/

Film Friday – One Year Alone in a Forest (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recommendation of one video to watch this weekend.

There is a famous tongue twister that goes “How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?”

Try saying it again and again, faster and faster. It’s quite tricky.

I was reminded of it whilst watching this two hour study of one man, his big pike of wood and a lot of chopping. It is strangely calming to watch a man build a shed from scratch over two hours.

Give it a watch and see how long you can keep it on for.

Film Friday – Sean Conway – The 496 Challenge (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recommendation of one video to watch this weekend.

Sean Conway is a British adventurer who was the first man to swim from Lands End to John O’Groats. If you don’t know his story go and check out his books. They are all worth a read.

At the end of last year (2020) he posted this tweet.

This is how it went.

Film Friday – Danny MacAskill – The Slabs (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recommendation of one video to watch this weekend.

I’ve wanted a drone for years but they were always too expensive and too bulky for what I wanted one for. It needed to be light enough to carry when running and cheap enough that I wouldn’t have to remortgage my house to get one.

The reason why I wanted one is summed up in a video like this. Spectacular camera work makes the awesome riding skills of Danny MacAskill look even better.

This week, as a bonus, here’s a second film to watch. A behind the scenes guide showing how the made the film.

Film Friday – Iain Robertson Rambles (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recomendation of one video to watch this weekend.

This weeks video is unfortunately only available to people in the UK as it is on the BBC’s iplayer service.

It is an amiable ramble along the West Highland Way which shows the best route isn’t the fastest way but the most fun way.

Film Friday – The Ginger Runner – The 100 Mile Training Week (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recomendation of one video to watch this weekend.

This week’s video is The Ginger Runner’s annual 100 mile training week video. Watching his 2019 video was the reason I attempted to run and video my attempt at it. It’s a really interesting challenge and I’d recommend people give it a try.

Film Friday – Black & Whyte – A Norseman Story (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly recommendation of one video to watch this weekend. I forgot to post this yesterday but better late than never!

This weeks video follows Greg Whyte who you might have seen on television helping celebrities overcome sporting challenges. He helped David Walliams swim the Thames and Davina Mccall’s 500 mile challenge, as well as many others.

This shows what it takes to do Norseman when you are as dedicated as he is. I did none of this when I did it. Its fair to say we had different experiences https://twinbikerun.com/2018/08/08/i-am-a-norseman-iain/

Film Friday – The Big Chill – Gary Robbins Backyard 100 (Iain)

Film Friday is a weekly (when I remember to do it) recomendation of one video to watch this weekend.

This weeks video is the story of Gary Robbins, a Canadian trail runner, and his comeback from injury to run a 100 mile route near his house.

Its the perfect example of how much fun and adventure you can have by creating your own event.
